Jerry Yan, Van Ness Wu, Ken Chu, Vic Zhou were from the Taiwanese F4 Group. Browse for more F4 updates and members' individual activities like latest dramas, albums, TVC, magazine covers and a lot more.
It's confirmed that Yahoogroups is terminating its group service on December 15. Thank you for those who joined my groups I moderated and I hope to get in touch with you through this blog! I didn't created any groups on Social Media so please be aware that you can only reach me here or to my Social Media accounts if we're friends :)
If you're reading this and subscribed to my group, please don't forget to say hello below under comment section! I would love to keep in touch to other 'loyal' fans that still out there!
We were excited when the poster and video teaser came out in Social Media few days ago. It was confirmed that F4 will be performing for "1001 Night Festival" on October 30 at 8pm. We started trending their names on Twitter and reached out to fellow F4 friends to not miss the show online! My favorite Taiwanese boyband F4 is reuniting one night. The last time we saw them performed together was in 2013 for Jiangsu TV Spring Festival.
Jiangsu TV revealed that they were performing two songs: "Meteor Rain" and "Di Yi Shi Jian." We also saw their rehearsal clip, to be honest it looked quite real until it hit me and told myself, "the other 3 are in Taiwan and only Van Ness is in Mainland?" So it was really interesting to know if the organizer will be using a LCD projection (pre-recorded) or it will be a livestream in two different places like we use to watch in music award shows in Hollywood.
I woke up early (I live in a different time zone US Central time) and logged on to Jiangsu TV website. It's funny that if you're viewing from a desktop/laptop you have to enable or install the flash player application which we all knew that Adobe will stop updating the Flash player after December 31, 2020 and some browsers don't support Flash. So, I have to enabled it for the meantime just to login to the website. Netizens also posted options on how to watch. I'm thankful for them especially those who are using their mobile phones to watch the show.
Performers line up was announced and F4 will be 12th on the list. I started setting up my messenger room and invited few people who cannot access the desktop or having technical issues logging in. Then, I started broadcasting using Facebook messenger room (I bet fans were also conferencing waiting for F4!) I didn't have the chance to talk to other fans because on that same time, I started working just like usual day checking my emails, starting my daily tasks and answering some work related phone calls).
[Please max your sound volume when you play this video, I recorded it from my desktop]
When the hosts started to introduced F4. I glued my eyes to my laptop and waited them to show up. A throwback clip from Meteor Garden was shown and F4 started to sing "Meteor Rain." It was the shortest version of Meteor Rain I've ever heard. Probably due to the time, they squeezed out the performance because there were a lot of artists on that show. I am so happy to see them once again on stage but I noticed few errors on technical side - since Jerry Yan, Ken Chu and Vic Zhou were CGI-ed, they cannot move freely. They were stiffed and very conscious. The movements were coordinated but lack of connection especially performing without fans infront of you, it's awkward! On the other side of the stage, Van Ness Wu performing solo on the stage.
F4 usually glanced and smiled at each other during performances. They were playful but perfectionist .I think some fans didn't notice it? They usually switched places during chorus, walked around and sing closely together. It never happened on that night.
Another thing I noticed was the edges of the green screen on top of their heads of Jerry, Ken & Vic. It was not a perfect CGI-ed but I appreciate the effort that they made. I feel bad for Van Ness. I knew the feeling that they cannot be together on stage and yet you have to do your best. Thumbs up for being such a great performer! I love them so much!!!!
They sounded good on both songs! Though I hear several sound delays and glitches. I kept on watching over and over again to be able to see the difference. The blending was almost-perfect and I salute the technical team for giving us the good show even though they are not the usual "live" as we expected due to the Covid-19 pandemic and it will be hard for F3 to fly to mainland and vice versa. I know there will come a day, F4 will be together again on stage soon and fans (like me) will get ready to scream and sing with them. The last time I saw them performed live was during their F4 Fantasy F4ever concert on 2006. Then met Jerry Yan [2009 in Taiwan] & Ken Chu [2007 in Manila for Batanes Movie Promo]. I didn't have a chance to meet Vic Zhou (peace out!).
I am still thankful because we were able to smile despite of the pandemic. Watching them again, reminds me of my fangirling days 17 years ago! Got reconnected to some fan girlfriends and meeting new fans! I am amaze how F4 became a big influence to our lives. Hope to meet other friends soon!
Don't stop. Ask for more!
How about you? What's your reaction upon watching them once again? Do they deserve another reunion? Please feel free to comment below :) Thank you for reading my blog!
I just found out Ken Chu's new channel and it features travel, food and lifestyle. I hope we can get a translation because we wanted to learn more about Taiwan lifestyle and culture.
Only 3 members of F4 agreed to do this series. Jerry Yan was busy on that time and there was issue with the production. This was a story of Xu Le, a best-selling author who had experienced a writer's block and searching for inspiration for his story. Later on, He met Ah Hao, a taxi driver who listened to all his passengers story. They were high school classmates which they haven't seen for years so the story continues on how they deal with life, career and love. This series captures the different local scenery and attractions in Taiwan.
I don't want to give spoilers on this series. I hope you can find it to watch online!
I bought Wish to See You photobook with postcards when I was in Taiwan. A very rare collection!
I wanted to greet Van Ness a Happy Birthday! Make sure you followed him on his Instagram account and beware of the posers! Van Ness never sent a personal message to his fans LOL
I watched IP Man 4 the other day, I knew I was kinda late because Netflix just added the movie this month for US viewers. I am so proud of Van Ness' role. He did a good job on his martial arts scenes!
I wish for your success and happiness. I always pray for your good health, career and keep on posting updates on your IG.
I'm sharing this trailer for those who are interested to watch IP Man 4.
I got this F4 collectible as a gift on my birthday on 2008. This edition comes with a 16-page booklet and DVD featuring F4's concert at Fisherman's Wharf in Danshui in January 2008. I wasn't able to join to attend this last F4 event because of financial issues and it was a on the spot event so I didn't prepare my documents & money. At that time, I was busy at work and my leave application got disapprove so I am so sad when I heard F4 released their last album!
From the album title, Waiting for you became one of the best Taiwanese drama I've watched because you'll able to see different sceneries in Taiwan and even though Jerry won't able to join the series, He was able to record some songs. Ken, Vic and Van Ness lead the series. I'll be having a separate review on that one.
Their song, Ti Yan (Goodbye) sounded like a "farewell" song!
I miss watching Asia's Got Talent with Van Ness as one of the judge. This video pop up on my Youtube recommendation! So funny when He answered the questions. Yes, it's a rapid fire questions you have to answer fast Van Ness! Enjoy watching.
I'm fixing my personal blog and I realized I haven't visited this F4 blog for a long time. We're on our 50th day stay-at-home order in the United States and I thought of posting here somehow reminisce good memories as a F4 fan for 17 years!
I am updated with current news and stories on each F4 members (especially Jerry Yan)! Thanks to generous friends who shared F4 stuff through Social Media.
I don't have the time to share it on my blog since I've been busy with my normal life :) I am happy that some of the F4 members are active. I've seen some "guestings" and "projects" on the Internet. I will be posting some updates soon, I promise!
I am browsing my external hard drive photos and I stumbled upon this:
This was the only photo I had during that time because I don't have a good camera. My friends knew me that I would never take photos during live concerts. Do you remember what year this was? What event? Where it was held? I was very lucky I was seated few steps down the stage. It was a very rewarding moment. Kindly comment below and I'll continue my story soon.
I'll just tease you with this photo. I'm trying to remember where I saved some of my F4 events photos. Multiply and Yahoogroups terminated its group service and I was busy with work during those times I don't have time to save the photos and videos. Also, my apartment was flooded during Typhoon Ondoy and I didn't recover some of my F4 souvenirs - magazines, photos, even my cds were soaked in flood. I have few photos to share so I'll be doing some "throwback" reviews of albums, movies, concerts, etc.
I finished watching the new Meteor Garden on Netflix. I know it became a trend since it was announce they're doing the reboot. I was impressed with the filming location. They definitely spent a lot shooting those scenes abroad! Also, we're excited how the younger generation will react.
I posted my review on my blog and please be minded that it may contain spoilers. I was surprised how they managed to squeezed in different episodes and twisted the story line!
Anyways, I include a warning on my blog post. So read at your own risk! How about you? Did you like it? You can comment below and let's discuss Meteor Garden on my blog!
Right now since we're stay-at-home (quarantine for more than 50 days now), I would like to re-watch Meteor Garden but Netflix is not offering the original series. Sigh. Maybe, I'll just check and watch online. I left my Meteor Garden DVDs in the Philippines and all of my F4 collections. I'll check online if they're selling it on Amazon.
Fun Fact: Meteor Garden ranked as the highest rated Asian drama in the Philippines. The series earned 63% rating that started the Asianovela craze in the Philippines.
What is your most favorite scene in Meteor Garden? Comment below and let's exchange stories
F4's most popular song, Liu Xing Yu (Meteor Rain), has been sung solo for the first time since the song's release in 2001. Usually sung by at least 2 members of the band, or just 1 member but as a duet with another artist, Ken Chu for the first time sang the song solo in the song's (and the band's) 16-year history.
