Last hope of F4 2010 reunion is dashed

Written by: Zahra on 12/04/2010 @ CpopAccess.com

After The Little Tiger's reunion on CCTV's annual Spring Festival Celebration program for their twentieth year, there were rumors and speculation that perhaps F4 would also reunite on the show for their tenth anniversary. While that plan to bring together Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, Van Ness Wu, and Ken Chu didn't fall into place, CCTV gave it one more shot by mailing out formal invitations in hopes that the four would attend the New Year's Eve celebration in Shenzhen on the 21st this year. Alas, Vic thought that the New Year's Eve celebration would actually, you know, be on New Year's Eve (the 31st), and so he had already made vacation plans for the 21st.

Unlike in Taiwan, Mainland's CCTV holds their New Year's Eve party earlier. On the night of the 20th, they hold the red carpet event, a press conference, and the dress rehearsal. Then on the 21st, they officially film the show. Had the reunion of F4 been successful, they would have been Taiwan's sole representatives.

The "mother of F4", Angie Chai, has deemed it "Mission Impossible" to bring the four together due to their different management companies. And since Vic will be doing promotions in Tokyo for "Black and White" near the Spring Festival date next year, chances are slim that the four will be able to reunite for the occasion. However, it can't be completely written off yet. Perhaps Hunan TV, who has offered to provide them with planes for transfers for Hunan TV's Spring Festival show, will be able to finally bring them back together again. Even Jerry's manager has stated that the four have a consensus on reuniting, but it will all depend on their schedules.

In the meantime, we can look forward to other big names coming to the CCTV New Year's Eve party, such as the Four Heavenly Kings consisting of Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai, and Aaron Kwok.

Ken Chu concert in Japan, concentrates fully at rehearsals

F4's popularity in Japan is unwavering. Ken Chu is the only member in F4 to hold solo concert in Japan for 3 consecutive years. 21st nite, his concert was held at a new venue JCB hall, estimate of 5000 seats were sold out fast, and organisers added standing tickets which were also wiped out by Japanese fans.

Despite the economic recession, Ken's is still doing well in Japan. Although this year is his 3rd time to open concert in Japan, his number of shows increased to 3 shows and tickets are priced at 8000yen (approximately NT3000), the price remains the same for standing tickets. Japan fans did not mind standing to squeeze in the venue to see their idol.

Having had concerts for 2 years in a row, initially Ken was afraid he might lose attractiveness, and begin to fade... Unexpectedly, fans to continue supporting him enthusiastically, and it is a great encouragement for him. "They recognised my music compositions, no matter how long am i able to sing, I'll treat each performance as the last and give my best."

For this year concert, Ken did everything himself, from looking for musicians, type for performances, content, costume etc and flew to Japan to start rehearsals 2 weeks b4 the concert. Past 2 years, he sang Carpenters and Beatles songs, this year he decided to pay tribute to Eagles.

Ken even chose a classic eagles song to dedicate to his deceased father. He revealed that the song had a significant meaning towards him, when he sang the song, he said in a teary voice: "Believe that my father will be listening by a side although he can't see it."

In comparision to the warmth by Japan fans, Ken is regretful for not being able to gain support in Taiwan, where topics will always be on his looks and whether he is fat or thin. He emphasized, it is due to his asthma. He expressed, "very thankful that F4 gave a good start for me in the entertainment biz, but I'm not a "pretty flower boy" anymore, hope I can be myself."

Vic Zhou is swearing off relationship for now

Vic Zhou, member of F4, who broke up with Barbie Hsu because they had "differing views and directions in love", claimed that he has lost confidence in maintaining a relationship.

In TV drama "The Last Night of Madam Chin", Zhou took the role as Fan Bingbing's young lover; a passionate man who tried to commit suicide for "Madam Chin", Fan's character. In his opinion, taking one's own life for love is a stupid move.

This is the first time Zhou and Fan are partnering on screen. "She is more like a mother and quite a nag; she'll bring me thermo bags, ginger tea, afraid that I'll catch a cold. I found out recently that my costumes were handpicked by her too," he shared.

In response to this, Fan said, "Everyone says I care too much for people around me."

Zhou also revealed that he has no wish to get into a relationship in reality for the time being. "Based on past experience, if I do not have confidence to bring her a lifetime of bliss, I should never fall in love with her," he said.

Ken Chu: F4 not considered friends, left with revolutionary feelings

Ken Chu: F4 not considered friends, left with revolutionary feelings

The name "F4", since year 2001 Meteor Garden filming, experienced popularity, ups and down, going solo, reuniting... various news, so what kind of relationship do the 4 of them have?

Ken said: "Our relations are subtle, not very good nor bad. Not possible to be best of friends because we have different lifestyles. And not possible to be on bad terms because we often have to work together. Are we really friends? Probably not." He added " Because besides work, we don't have any contacts." However, he did not overturn their many years of revolutionary feelings. He revealed they have slept together before. Was there competition between one another? He said: "Even if there was, it was no ill intentions." There were rumours that he and Jerry Yan were on bad terms, he denied: "I dislike people who are gui mao (taiwan slang for fussy?), after Jerry knew, he dare not provoke me." If have to choose who he gets along best with among other F3, he chose Vic Chou: "His cold jokes, only I can understand."

Shedding Idol image

Before entering showbiz, he had lived in hardship. His life totally changed because of F4. The 1st time in his life to see large sum of $ was when he filmed Marmalade Boy with NT$500,000 earnings. But if given the chance for him to make a decision again, he expressed he will not walk the same road and would rather study. Besides losing freedom, privacy... after being a celebrity, there was once he was tembling outside the bank entrance, he realised he was lost the ability to do things himself. From then, he felt he has to refind his attitude of living. "This 3 years I have been working hard to shed idol image, who doesn't go downhill, the most important is that u have face ourself when u are asleep." Therefore, he practise Taichi, "I hope fans will learn from my way of life, not blindly spend money for my sake."

Tokyo Trial Nominated at 17th Golden Rooster and Full Blossom Film Festival

Zhang Yimou, Gong Li, Jackie Chan fail to make shortlist for Chinese audience film awards
Chinese film veterans Zhang Yimou, Gong Li and Jackie Chan failed to make the shortlist for film awards given by the audience at an annual domestic film festival which opened in China's northeast seaport of Dalian on Wednesday.

Directors Feng Xiaogang, Yin Li, Stephen Chow, Ning Hao and Gao Qunshu will contend for the Best Director of the 29th Full Blossom awards, with their "The Assembly," "Yun Shui Yao," "Crazy Stone," "A Hope," and "Tokyo Trial", respectively.

They were selected and then nominated during a general election campaign organized by China Film Association from April 16 to July 31.

Zhang Yimou, director of "Curse of the Golden Flower," has missed the shortlist, together with Peter Chan and Benny Chan, other two candidates announced by the CFA earlier.

"Curse of the Golden Flower" received heated and mixed reaction after its release in China in December 2006.

Zhang is also the general director of the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies.

Gong Li was on the longlist for her leading role in "Curse of the Golden Flower" together with Xu Jinglei and Lin Hsilei, but lost out on a shortlist spot to Li Bingbing, Tang Yan, Gao Yuanyuan, Hsu Vivian, Leung Wing Kei, who were nominated for the Best Leading Actress award.

Kung fu star Jet Li will contend for the Best Leading Actor after beating off strong opponents including Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Chow Yun-fat, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Louis Koo.

He was nominated with Zhang Hanyu for Feng Xiaogang's "The Assembly", Guo Tao for 2006's black horse "Crazy Stone," Chen Kun for love story "Yun Shui Yao," and Liu Songren for "Tokyo Trial."

Li was acclaimed by audience for "The Warlords", depicting a struggle of three blood brothers and their love entanglements with a woman during a time of war and political upheaval in the Qing Dynasty .

He won the Best Leading Actor at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards on April 13, also for the movie, which was directed by Hong Kong director Peter Chan.

"Yun Shui Yao," "The Assembly," "Crazy Stone," "Tokyo Trial," "Invisible Wings" will vie for the Best Feature Film award.

All the awards will be given out at the closing ceremony of the 17th Golden Rooster and Full Blossom Film Festival on Saturday evening.

Programs of the festival include promotion of dozens of films, projection of more than 80 domestic and foreign movies, a film forum and several press conferences.

Vanness, no, it should be Van Ness. I don't quite understand the difference between them. Who cares! He is still the person I'm acquainted with, my first friend in F4. V's autobiography interests me a great deal. Like all who know him as he is, I'm interested in his past as well. What sort of past and what sort of education have contributed and made V now equipped with such persevere and easy-going personality.
I always regard him as an artist who has come well-prepared with what it takes to be one. Although I'm not very talkative, he has chatted with me sharing much of his past and family situation. When we were the spokespersons for Lillo & Stitch and during a concert tour, I visited his family and saw some of his photos. He was fat in the photos. Don't get me wrong; there is nothing particular in my mentioning this. It's just that it's very difficult to make a connection between the guy in the photos and the guy now with such a beautiful body. This just shows you how strong his willpower is. This alone is a worthy lesson for all of us to learn from. (a smiling face drawn here by Zai) This book serves as a catalog recording his life journey. By reading this book, you no longer need to buy any gossip book.
I think no gossip books can be more sensational than what he has revealed in his own book. I'll cherish the book and also recommend it to people around me. May Van Ness always remain as happy, enthusiastic, humorous, and dedicated as when he just first started. Jia You! Brother.

For Clarification - http://jvkv.multiply.com

For Clarification

1. I don't own this forum. The forum is under multiply.com - We are here to exchange topics, ideas, comments, on F4 and etc.

2. Links - OBVIOUSLY I DON'T OWN it personally. Drama Serials are copyrighted and owned by the respective networks. And nobody owns it since it was just in downloaded form. Links should be protected by "filtering" it and send by requests. You may free to go to other forums if you want to. And nobody is stopping you to find some other resources.

3. This is a friendly forum - If you think this is not a perfect place for you, then feel
free to leave the forum. Look another one that will makes you happy. If you are not happy here -- why stay? ...aren't we friendly enough thinking that we made all possible resources available to everybody? Think Again.

4. Am not a POWER tripping person - Of course am one of the admins of this community. In any forums, there is also one or more than two admins who take control of it. Di mahirap na gawain ito thinking that most of us do also work and have our own lives.

5. Selfishness - Am not selfish. Am doing my job. Look what have these "giant" companies do to youtube users - they banned the links. We are protecting our forum, yourselves and most specially our people. If we found out that the links were distributed everywhere and if found pointing to us ---who to blame? you? of course, not. it's US! Think Again.

6. Let us continue spreading the love for F4. We started creating this place for us
(retardeds) and lately realized we should share it to others. Where is selfishness, huh?

7. Originality - Our group was formed since 2003 when Meteor Garden was started. We started at Yahoogroups then decided to create a community here in Multiply. So we belonged originally from F4 International Yahoogroups till we landed on JVKV.Multiply.com. Plain as simple. Group is well-established and most survived forum.

8. A big Thank You - Just want to say Thank you for your undying support. Let us forget what happened and start a brand new day.

To all people who participated, contributed, replied, commented, visited, lurked,
spying.... Thank You.

To my friends who keep on believing ... Mahal ko kayo.

=) We all stick together. Ika nga, di tayo matitibag kasi ----di tayo bato! hahahaha!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VANNESS. YES, ONE LOVE. =) ...

Fahrenheit replaces F4 as Taiwan Tourism Ambassadors

Source: Minpao
Translated by: bluebbear549 @ http://asianvn.com

Fahrenheit’s goal is to exceed F4’s during marketing in Japan and South Korea

Fahrenheit’s Wu Chun, Calvin Chen, Jiro Wang, and Arron Yan baton passed F4 becoming a spokesperson for the Taiwan Tourism, continuing to attack the Japan and South Korean market. F4’s past appeared astonishing, helping Taiwan earn at least 1.1 billion Taiwan dollars in tourism revenue. Fahrenheit believes that the pressure is really big, but they are trying to set a goal beyond F4’s. F4’s jobs were compared with Fahrenheit’s. For two times, F4 propagandizes successfully in Japan and South Korea with two fan meetings. There has also been rumors that in October, F4 will be holding 6 concerts in Japan; Fahrenheit had only 1 overseas publicity, 1 fan meeting. A magazine states that there is no way that they’ll beat F4.

Yesterday, Fahrenheit attended the Tourism Bureau press conference. Wu Chun, although is from Brunei, he is also Taiwanese. Wu Chun is trying to promote Taiwan’s water park. The other three members have introduced from Taiwan’s land to snacks, and to romantic places.

---------------------------------
THERE IS NO WAY THAT THEY CAN BEAT F4. Although I like CC hahaha!

We all knew that F4 has no interest of renewing their contract as Tourism Ambassadors because of conflict schedules of their individual works. But these media are making it a BIG DEAL. Oh well, Good Luck na lang. Ipasa daw ang pressure sa kanila. hehehe =)

Fahrenheit vs. F4

Fahrenheit vs. F4

Since the mention of their group popped up, the press prodded them about being compared to F4 of the hit Taiwanese series MeteorGarden. Both Chun and Calvin refused to say who’s more popular between the two groups these days.

Chun even claimed that F4 is “still big in Taiwan” and that both F4 and Fahrenheit have their fair share of supporters. As for being at par with F4, Chun’s opinion on the subject merely emphasized his down-to-earth personality.

"I think we still have a lot of things to learn. We are just new. We’ve been in showbiz for just three years. And I think F4 has been in this business for seven years or so. (And besides), we can’t judge this by ourselves. But what's important is that in all our dramas and record alcbums, we do our very best and hope that we get good results.”
